Bryce Canyon

This last weekend we headed to Bryce Canyon. Dan had never been there before so it was fun to show him around. My family used to go almost every year when we were younger but it has been years since I have been back. Most of my dads family came so it was nice to have a last minute family reunion with them. Savannah stayed pretty close to her cousin Alex. These two have a lot of fun with each other. In that top picture you see Savannah making a getaway with Dan's Mt Dew. I found that cup later and it was empty. We had a late night that night.

Savannah of course is crazy and does nothing but run. Talk about a mothers anxiety. That kid lived with a leash on anytime we were anywhere near a road or the canyon.

All in all it was a really great weekend. Pretty quick trip but worth it. I hope it is not years before we get back there again.

Busy Summer

The end of July found us at Aspen Grove for the Langford Family Reunion. Aspen Grove is a BYU sponsored camp for Families up Provo Canyon. We had fun swimming and playing games late into the night. Not totally worth the price you pay I thought but it was relaxing and it is always nice to get away on vacation.

Savannah held her first sparkler this last 4th of July and loved it. Last year she was a pretty scared of the fireworks and noises but this year she loved it. After every firework we'd hear her say "Wow" it was so funny. Dan had the night off from work so he was able to celebrate this year with us. We had a BBQ with my parents then went to his for the firework show. All in all it was a great day.

We have enjoyed a fun busy summer. My younger brother Will got married in June and we had a wonderful day celebrating. Savannah looked adorable in her new dress and I don't think there was a person at that reception who didn't come up to me to tell me how beautiful she is. Makes a mom feel good to hear that. She is a cutie.

Mission calls and Mothers Day

We had an exciting weekend, not only was it Mothers Day but my younger brother received his mission call on Friday. He is called to serve in the Atalanta Georgia North mission and he is very excited. He is such a great kid and will make a great missionary.
I also had a good Mothers Day. Dan gave me some flowers, a nice card, a pack of Mt Dew (that man knows the way to my heart) and took care of Savannah so I could take a nap that afternoon.
Later on we went and had a nice visit with my Family and then gathered at the Langfords a BBQ. It was good times and good food.

Wedding day memories

I saw this on my sister in-laws blog and thought it would fun to reminice a little.

1) When was your wedding day? September 8th, 2006
2) What day of the week was it? A Friday
3) Did you get married in a church? The ceremony was outside
4) How many in your wedding party? Two bridesmaids, one best man
5) How many guests were invited to your wedding? 100 people to the ceremony and around 500 to the reception.
6) How long did you wait to tie the knot after your proposal? It was just about 8 weeks
7) Did you register for gifts? We registered at Target
8) Who did you hire as your photographer & videographer? My friend Donna took my bridals and a friend of my parents did the wedding.
9) Did you have a DJ or a band? We had a DJ
10) Did the father walk the bride down the aisle? Yes and he married us as well.
11) What color were the bridesmaid dresses & groomsmen vests? the dresses were a bronze color and there were no vests.
12) Who was the Maid Of Honor? The Best Man? I didn't have a maid of honor just two bridesmaids and Dan's twin brother Doug was the best man.
14) Did the bride have a bridal shower? Ya I had a couple
15) What type of limo did you get? no limo
16) What type of wedding gown/tux did you two wear? Dan wore a black suit and I had a white gown that was gathered with some sparkly things through out the dress. It was pretty.
17) How was the weather? Beautiful, which was lucky for an outdoor wedding in September.
19) What was your favorite part of your wedding day? Taking off my dress. I couldn't breathe in that thing.
20) How long have you been married? two and half years
21) What was the most memorable "bridezilla" moment? The day of my wedding I freaked out because I all of a sudden decided that I wanted a veil. A friend of my mothers had to go borrow her daughters veil, who had been married that past summer, for me to use.
22) What was your most memorable wedding-related mental breakdown? When I was about to start walking down the aisle with my dad I panicked and kept saying oh shit to my self. I thought I was just saying it in my head but I didn't. My dad still teases me about it.
23) What would you change about your day? I would of ate more at the reception. Our cake was delicious.
24) What was your most memorable Wedding moment? The whole day was pretty great. All the moments were memorable.

Happy Birthday Tim

This last weekend we celebrated my brother Tim's 30th birthday. Here is a picture of Time with his cute little boy Alex. Thank you Kim for inviting us and throwing a wonderful party.
Me, Dan and Savannah had a wonderful time.
Miss Savannah is walking all over the place now and is picking up some new phrases. Her new favorite things to say are "thank you" and "uh oh". She'll drop things on purpose so she can say uh oh and she'll bring me things to hand back to her so she can say thank you. I am trying to teach her night night, goodnight or something to that effect because every night when it is time for bed she gives you a kiss and tells you bye.
What a cutie!!!

Peek a Boo

Savannah sure loves playing with her box. I actually just had to throw this box away because it was so haggard. You buy the kid a but load of toys and all they do is play with the box.

Weekend Getaway

Well Daniel and I hit the cabin this last weekend and we had a great time. It was nice to get away for two days and just relax. We went with Dan's brother Doug and his family and our friend Cory. It was Cory's cabin and he was nice enough to invite us all up. Dan and I decided to leave Savannah out this time so we could have a little break and get some sleep. We missed her but I certainly loved sleeping in until noon on Sunday.
I rode a snow mobile for the first time and was completely terrified. Might be a while before I want to repeat that experience. All in all it was just a relaxing weekend. We just sat around by the fire talking, playing cards and eating junk. Good times.

Happy New Year

Well we have had a great 2008. Savannah has added so much joy into our lives. She is such a happy, healthy and beautiful little girl. We are very blessed. Dan had to work New Year's Eve so we didn't see much of him. He was able to spend some time with us, at my parents place, before he had to go into to work that night though and we played a few hands of poker. Savannah and I had a hard time staying awake until midnight but we made it, barely. We were both in bed and sound asleep not long after twelve though. Well here are a few pics of Savannah over the last few months. She is so cute I just can't resist putting them in.
